Lots of great events this week including the Tigard Library Used Book Sale- we have gotten some great finds there in the past. Gently used books and brand new DVDs at a fraction of the price!

The Japanese Garden offers free admission tomorrow so check it out. The kids are off from school. Hope you are enjoying the LONG weekend!

Free Admission @ Japanese Garden from 10AM-4PM

Mythobolus Mask Theatre presents Wildlife Tales@ Tigard Library from 7-8PM.

This unique dance and mask collective will use masks, colorful costumes, music and narration to present animal tales from around the world. Based on the Verdi opera by the same name, Elton John's "AIDA" is a classic love triangle: Aida, a Nubian princess, is captured by an Egyptian captain, Radames. He soon falls in love with her and saves her from a life of hard labor and instead gives her as a handmaiden to the Egyptian princess Amneris, his future bride. The school website states that this show is appropriate for all ages- probably best for kids 6 and up. The show runs through next weekend. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under. Get the Buzz on Bees@ Hillsboro Main Library (2850 NE Brookwood Parkway, Hillsoro) from 2:30-3:30PM.

Do bees fascinate or frighten you? Learn about their magical ways with Brian Lacy, who's kept bees since he was 14 years old. Film clips, stills and stories will put you "in the hive" exploring the pivotal relationship between humans and bees. After the presentation, everyone will get a taste of organic honey in the comb, look into a real hive (no bees inside) and handle beekeeping equipment. All ages welcome.
