Hope everyone enjoyed the holiday break- now back to school and the whirlwind of activities. President Lincoln arrives in Beaverton on Tuesday and you can enjoy FREE admission to the Chinese Garden through Saturday.

Abraham Lincoln@ Beaverton History Center (12412 SW Broadway St., Beaverton) at 7PM.

Lincoln portrayer Steve Holgate will present selections from our 16th President's most famous speeches, poetry and even jokes.The audience will also be able to take on the role of Civil War-era journalists in a Q&A period. Enjoy free admission (regularly $9.50) as part of "Great Eight Free Days" through Saturday!! The garden shop expands into a garden pavilion to offer a dazzling display of Chinese New Year items in preparation for the beginning of the Year of the Snake on February 10th. Read to the Dogs@ Beaverton City Library from 10AM-12PM.

Kids from 6 to 12 years old can improve their reading skills and make a new friend by reading aloud to therapy dogs. The dog-and-handler teams are registered volunteers with Delta Societys Pet Partners Program, sponsored by DoveLewis. Sessions are 20 minutes and registration is required at 503-350-3600 or sign up in person at the Childrens Desk on the first floor of the library.
