Hi! Everyone-

Most libraries are closed on Monday in observance of Martin Luther King Day. Don't forget that you can scale down your library fines by bringing non-perishable food items to Tigard Library this week (See Monday for details)! The rest of the week includes a local school production of "Cinderella", a Beatles cover band, Rails at Lake Oswego Library, and a not to be missed Moroccan cooking class for parents!

Food for Fines@Tigard Library through January 26th.

Join the Library's food drive, help out the community and do yourself a favor, too. For every two non-perishable food items, you can clear $1 of fines from your account up to $10. The food will be donated to St. Vincent DePaul food pantry in Tigard which will distribute to local families in need. Acceptable donations include canned tuna, boxed mac and cheese, Peanut butter, pasta, rice and cereal. Go to for more info.

Preschool Storytime@ Beaverton Library at Murray Scholls Branch from 9:30AM-10:AM.Get your morning started with fun stories for kids from 3ish to 5 years old at the newest branch! Fun for Ones (Ages 12-24 months)@ Tigard Library from 10:15-10:45AM AND 11:15AM-11:45AM. Bring your one year old for songs, rhymes, simple stories and movement activities. Great for new walkers. Pie Day & Fundraiser@ Baker and Spice (6330 SW Capitol Highway - Hillsdale Shopping Center-Portland) from 6AM-6PM

Baker & Spice- one of SW Portland's fave spots for sweet treats- will celebrate their 8th bday and National Pie Day with a day of pie-related fun. A portion of all pie sales will be donated to Neighborhood House in support of their Emergency Food Box Program. By a whole pie-(Apple Blackberry Lattice, Boston Cream,etc.), try by the slice or go for a Lemon Meringue Pie-let or a Whoopie Pie! Savory pot pies as well. Eat pie for a great cause!!! Drawings, balloons, giveaways, and coloring for the kiddos! Go to for updates on the pie merriment!!!
