Jul 8th

Book Babies@ Tigard Library from 10:15-10:45AM.Share nursery rhymes, finger plays, songs and a simple book while developing early literacy skills. Stay and play after the program. Phone the library for more details at 503/684-6537.

Chess Club@ Beaverton City Library from 1:30-2:30PM. Hone your skills or learn the game! Geared for grades 3-8th.

Monday Drop-in Playtime@ Tigard Library from 2-4PM. Stop by on Monday afternoons for a surprise activity- dress-up, toys, tunnels, or crafts!


Jul 9th

Lawn Party@ Beaverton City Library from 3-5PM.Kids in grades 6 through 12 can play lawn games and nosh on Voodoo Donuts! Bring an article of clothing to tie-dye! Go to www.beavertonlibrary.org for more info.

Fun for Ones (Ages 12-24 months)@ Tigard Library from 10:15-10:45AM AND 11:15AM-11:45AM. Bring your one year old for songs, rhymes, simple stories and movement activities. Great for new walkers. The Jungle Book@ Broadway Rose Theatre (Deb Fennell Theater at Tigard High School located at 9000 SW Durham Road in Tigard) at 11AM.These short (40ish minutes), lively productions are a great way to introduce kids to the theater!!! I started taking my kids when they were about 3.The original songs are always fun for both parents and tots and the ticket price is right at $8!!! Shows often sell out so get your tickets in advance by phoning the box office at 503/620-5262 or at www.broadwayrose.org. The kids can meet the characters afterwards for photos and program autographs!

Friday Fun Party@ My Masterpiece Art Studio (7905 SW Cirrus Drive, Beaverton) from 10AM-6PM. Get the summer off to an arty start with fab drop-in "We'll show you how" workshops. Today's crafts are "Under the Sea" inspired! Kids can create fishy mixed media collages, pottery turtle bowls and more!, Prices are $8-$16 per project.
