Time to hit the school treadmill once again- new teachers, homework, no more chillax schedule!

We're looking forward to the Beaverton Parade on the weekend and might even try Bike Beaverton, too.

Oregon State Fair@ Oregon State Fairgrounds (2330 17th Street NE, Salem) from 10AM-11PM through Labor Day!What more could you ask for? 4-H displays, Square Dancers, Roller Derby, Chinese acrobats, GASCAR Crazy Animal Races, Timbersports and the Super Orbier and other carnival rides! Annual Dahlia Festival@ Swan Island Dahlias (995 NW 22nd Ave, Canby) from 10AM-6PM through Labor Day. Free admission, free parking!!! Chill-ax in the rainbow of colors - indoors and out in the fields (great photo opp!!!). Go to www.dahlias.com for more info.

17th Annual Art in the Pearl@ NW Park Blocks of Portland from 10AM-6PM and through Labor Day. Peruse the art (ceramics, fiber, glass, jewelry & more), enjoy the music, and try out the hands-on art activities for children and adults in the education pavillion. Performances and great food, too. Summer Wipeout Aqua Challenge@ Aloha Swim Center (18650 SW Kinnaman Road, Aloha) from 10:30AM-11:45AM. Open swim will feature the giant Aqua Challenge obstacle course inflatable toy. Make a Mini-Lego Pirate @ Lego Store (Wash. Sq.) from 5PM-6PM!Free! Phone the store for more details at 503/670-9109. You can just never have enough Legos, can you? For kids from 6 to 14. Supplies are limited so arrive early. I have seen parents and kids line up at least 45 minutes ahead before!

Toddler Fun@ Beaverton City Library from 10:15-11AM. Drop-in for fun activities for toddlers, like a storytime without the books. Well dance, use shakers, scarves, do movement activities, sing, and have a simple craft. Ages 2-4 with adult.

Fun for Ones (Ages 12-24 months)@ Tigard Library from 10:15-10:45AM AND 11:15AM-11:45AM. Bring your one year old for songs, rhymes, simple stories and movement activities. Great for new walkers. The 56th Annual Beaverton Celebration Parade@ Starts at 10AM on SW Wilson Ave& Allen Blvd.This year the parade theme is "Community-For One and All" ! Come and cheer on all the very cool entries including marching bands, gymnastic and dance teams, Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts, Pageant winners, rodeo stars, Chuck E. FREE Make a Football Ring Toss Game@ Home Depot stores (closest would be 4401 SW 110th Ave) from 9AM to Noon. Kids will learn tool safety and have fun working on this "hands-on" project.
