Cheryl Strayed& "The Best American Essays 2013"@ Powell's Books at Cedar Hills Crossing at 7PM.Selected and introduced by Cheryl Strayed, the bestselling author of Wild and the columnist behind "Dear Sugar," The Best American Essays 2013 (Mariner) is a treasure trove of fine writing and thought-provoking essays. Strayed will be joined by contributors Brian Doyle, Vanessa Veselka, Kevin Sampsell, and Michelle Mirsky.

Great Suburban Race@ Murrayhill Rec Center ( 11010 SW Teal Blvd., Beaverton) at 11AM.
You are the First Team to Arrive! Lots of fun stuff planned for this year's family friendly Great Suburban Race! There will be a total of 10 Challenges that await you and your family. Challenges can be done in any order. Penalties will be assessed at the end of the race when you turn in your race sheet. Everyone opens the envelope at exactly 11 a.m. Bring a  Smart phone - you will need it! and about $5:00 in cash for the race. Suggested donation : $ 20 per team...you can form a 2 - 5 person team.  Net proceeds go towards the education of three Thai children living in the slums of Thailand.
