Jun 1st

U-Pick Strawberries@ Baggenstos Farm (15801 SW Rogers Road, Sherwood) from 9AM-6PM daily!Have the kids gather the Hoods, Bentons, Shutkins and Totems. You can bake up the shortcakes later! It's strawberry season- YIPPEE!!!! Check out for details and for a farm fresh produce guide.

Sign up for Summer Reading at your local libraries!

Summer Reading Program Sign-up has started so get to your local library and sign-up! Read for 15 hours and collect a free paperback book and other cool prizes. Even babies who are read to for 15 hours are eligible! Kids completing 5th grade can sign up for the Teen Summer Reading program. So start reading!!!! Go to for more info!

Tinker Tuesday@ Beaverton City Library from 4-5PM. A STEM club for children grades 1-5. Drop-off. Registration required at 503/350-3600 or go to for more info.       

Make a Mini-Parrot@ Lego Store (Wash. Sq.) from 5PM-6PM! Free! Phone the store for more details at 503/670-9109. You can just never have enough Legos, can you? For kids from 6 to 14. Supplies are limited so arrive early. I have seen parents and kids line up at least 45 minutes ahead before!

Light Up Book Mark@ Murray Scholls Branch from 5-6PM. Kids (Grades 6-12) can create a bookmark that lights up using conductive thread circuits and felt. Phone the library to register at 503/644-2197, Option 6. Go to for more info.

Treemendous First Thursday Discount Day @ World Forestry Center Discovery Museum from 10AM-5PM. Admission is reduced to $3 per person for kids from 3 to 103! Molly Glass@ Tigard Library from 7-8:30PM.Oregon Book Award winner Molly Glass will discuss her latest novel-"Falling From Horses"-and sign books. Set in Hollywood in the 1930s, the novel features 19 year old ranch hand Bud Frazer who leaves Oregon to try his luck as a movie extra/stuntman. Go to for more info.

FREE Build a Load and GO Truck@ Home Depot stores (closest would be 4401 SW 110th Ave) from 9AM to Noon. Kids will learn tool safety and have fun working on this "hands-on" project.
