There are several "Reading Makes You Feel Good" events at local libraries this week! You can meet an award winning children's author and receive a free book!

Talking Early Literacy with Toddlers@ Beaverton City Library from 7 to 8:15PM

This is the 3rd session in this month's "Every Child Ready to Read" parenting workshop series! These early literacy sessions offer parents tips on bringing reading into everyday routines and family fun. REGISTRATION required by phoning the library at 503/350-3600. Reading Makes You Feel Good@ Beaverton City Library from 3:30-4:30PM

Award-winning children's author Todd Parr will  help celebrate the Month of the Young Child and  bring FREE copies of his books including "Reading Makes You Feel Good". There will be an interactive reading, book signing, and Q&A session designed for children and adults. No registration required!

Baby Bear and the Beanstalk @ Ladybug Theater at Smile Station (8210 SE 13th Ave., Sellwood section of Portland) at 10:30AM. This show is geared for kids from 2 1/2 to 6 years old. Plenty of audience participation and the shows usually last 40 minutes. $3.50 per person but babes in arms are free. Pay at the door but you must phone to reserve tickets in advance at 503/232-2346. All-Natural Egg Dyeing@ Whole Foods Market (19440 NW Cornell Road, Hillsboro) at 10AM

Learn how to use beets and blueberries and other extracts from nature to dye eggs. All materials will be provided for this totally fun craft which is FREE but you must pre-register by phoning the store at 503/645-9200. The egg dyeing is for ages 4 and up. There is also a "Go Fly a Kite!" event at 4PM for ages 6 and up which also requires pre-registration. Bring 6 single use plastic bags and learn how to turn them into a kite! Happy Earth Day!!!!!!!!!
